Litigation
Litigation consumes valuable resources. The financial resources that can be devoured are often the first to come to mind . . . but the cost in time and emotional expense can be significant as well. Litigation also poses another risk. Once a matter is before a court or jury, the outcome is influenced by a wide variety of uncertainties, and an all-or-nothing conclusion is typically reached. This isn't a place for on-the-job training, whether in the field of communications or in the area of litigation.
Our litigation practice group is qualified to represent you as either lead or special counsel. Attorney Jon Kreucher's practices within this group; his advocacy skills were recognized early in law school as the recipient of the James Tuck award for oral advocacy, presented by the Michigan State Bar. Mr. Kreucher was also honored repeatedly for his legal research and writing skills as the recipient of related American Jurisprudence Awards. Following law school, Mr. Kreucher served as a prosecutor on a retained basis and successfully pursued convictions in both bench and jury trials. While employed as in-house counsel by cable companies, Jon regularly supervised litigation work performed by outside counsel.
A return to private practice now allows Mr. Kreucher to aggressively litigate matters on behalf of his clients. Recently, these skills were demonstrated before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York as part of the Adelphia Bankruptcy process. There, our firm was one of just four firms nationwide which successfully defended local governments' rights to review a proposed cable franchise transfer while the transferor was in bankruptcy.
Jon Kreucher is licensed before all Michigan state courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern District and Western Districts of Michigan, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Mr. Kreucher seeks admission before other courts on a pro hac vice basis as necessary.
